How you got started?
As long as I can remember I have loved making old things new and creating. Whether it was interiors, refurbishing furniture, etc- creating beautiful things has always been my passion. (I started painting furniture in the nineties before it was cool!) But it was always mainly just a hobby until 2012 my passion became a career. Then, in April of 2018 I went out on my own and started The Plumb Line.
I get asked a lot about how I came up with the name. It was actually a name I came up with for a business project back in college.
Zechariah 4:10 says, "Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line..."
noun: a line with a plumb attached to it, used for finding the depth of water or determining the vertical on an upright surface. A plumb line is objective. It measures depth and uprightness. In ancient times it was used to ensure one’s work was true and straight.
This is everything that I desire for my business.
What sets you apart from others in your industry?
I believe from the bottom of my heart that EVERYONE deserves a home that they think is beautiful and that they feel comfortable in, so I do my very best to work with any budget. You don't have to be wealthy to hire an interior designer. In most cases people end up saving time, money, and their sanity by hiring a designer.
