Welcome to another lovely showcase! Here we will feature one of our lovelies and their business. Today, you'll enjoy meeting DeAnna and her accounting business in Kannapolis who was awarded NorthState Technology Solutions New Business of the Year in 2018.
We met DeAnna at a Cabarrus Chamber of Commerce event and hit it off! She's the sweetest and encouraged us as we barely made it to our tax deadline with our disaster of a mess for 2018. (Don't worry. We survived. We now use QuickBooks and we have a grasp on financial organization, but it was a little trying during tax season.)
How did you get started in accounting?
I have an undergraduate degree in Political science, and after moving from TN to Chapel Hill NC and working in my field for exactly one week I realized that was not for me. After several years of soul searching, I met my now amazingly supportive husband who recommended I help out a friend of his who had opened his own construction business as their office manager. I taught myself QuickBooks and found myself loving accounting. I ended up going back to UNCC to get my Masters and becoming a CPA. I always knew at some point I wanted to be my own boss, and after an awesome experience at Potter and Company I decided to go out on my own and have not looked back!
What sets you apart from others in your industry?
I would like to think that our customer centric approach is what sets us apart from my competition. We focus on accounting for small businesses and try to make it as easy as possible for them. This allows them to focus on what they do best and leave the numbers to us. Unlike many other CPA firms, we will work on site at client's offices, since that is where their information is and where they are comfortable.
